Community Guidelines

The Scotland National Rural Network website aims to connect rural Scotland in all its diversity to promote economic growth and community development. You can share your experience and knowledge with others, and your views on a range of issues, by posting comments on the site.

The Scotland National Rural Network is a pre-moderated website, which means that any comments or postings are checked by the editor before publication on the site. The editor may not publish a posting, or part of a posting, that is unacceptable.

We will publish content as soon as possible after submission, and normally within 24 hours. Submitted articles will be published within 24 hours of approval and in the case of regular features, may be published at a later date to fit with the features schedule.

If you feel that any behaviour on the site is unacceptable for any reason please contact the editor by email at editor@ruralgateway.org.uk to raise your concerns.

Photos submitted to our gallery will be uploaded to the Scotland National Rural Network gallery on the photo sharing site www.flickr.com.

Any content you add to the Scotland National Rural Network remains your intellectual property.

When using the site please ensure that:

  • You respect other users and their points of view, even if you disagree with them. Disagree with opinions not people.
  • You are careful when using ambiguous language and humour that may inadvertently offend.
  • You do not make unwarranted criticism, abusive or libellous comments about other people and organisations.
  • The site will not be used to advertise commercial products and services.
  • With sensitive situations you phrase your comments in such a way that individuals cannot be identified from them.
  • If you quote from a book, journal, website or other reference material, clearly state your source and don’t quote more than is permitted by normal copyright restrictions.
  • You do not distribute text or graphic material that is copyright protected unless you have permission to do so.

If you have any queries about these guidelines, please do not hesitate to contact the editor on editor@ruralgateway.org.uk.
