Pound notes

The BBC Scotland radio programme Out of Doors featured a piece on rural funding on Saturday 31st October. Listeners to the weekly programme heard from two community projects, and Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisation's Rural Development Officer Sandra Hogg.

The One Stop Shop in Coalburn Ayrshire has a range of community services available under one roof including a post office, charity shop, cafe and Citizens Advice Bureau.

The Milton Community House project in Ross-shire offers a range of services including meeting rooms and a tool club which has a range of tools the community can use. The project is about to embark on a move to a new purpose built building.

You can hear more about these projects, and how they went about getting funding by listening to the programme on the BBC Radio Scotland website. You'll also get information from Sandra Hogg on where to go for help and advice and some top tips to help make your funding application successful.

You can listen again here until the morning of Saturday 7th November. The funding feature is right at the start of the programme.
