If you're interested in Rural Development and the Environment, finding out more about the Scottish National Rural Network, LEADER and Rural Priorities, hearing from two successful projects and networking with a wide range of people, then why not book on the Forth Valley & Lomond Rural Network Regional Event?

The event will take place at the McLaren Leisure Centre in Callander on 19th January 2010 from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

The Forth Valley & Lomond event is part of a series of 20 regional events being coordinated by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations as part of the Scottish National Rural Network. In the Forth region four themed events are planned. The Callander event is the first and will include a focus on how environmental activity contributes to rural development.

Beverley Maclean, Scottish National Rural Network Regional Co-ordinator said, "The Forth Valley & Lomond event will be a great opportunity to visit a showcase display of projects from the area, get updates on rural funding opportunities and to hear about two exciting projects, Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve and the Stratheden Path Project.

"Our first event at Oldmeldrum in November was a lively day, with participants really making the most of networking opportunities, and we're looking forward to the same kind of buzz in Callander.

"We're looking forward to meeting people on the day, but don't forget if this date and location doesn't suit you there are still another 18 events to take place in the coming months."

The event will be chaired by Kate Sankey of Forth Environment Link, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs Community Partnership and National Park Authority. Anne-Michelle Ketteridge of Forth Valley & Lomond LEADER will give an update on LEADER, Iain Rennick Chair of the Forth RPAC will give an update on Rural Priorities and Beverley Maclean and SNRN website editor Norette Ferns will give an update on the Rural Network.

Project presentations will come from a local project, Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve and the Stratheden Path Project from Fife. After a networking lunch and a chance to look at the Showcase display stands, there will be a facilitated discussion session.

For more information on the event download the Forth Valley & Lomond Rural Network Regional Event flyer. There is a link to the booking form on this flyer.
