Scotland: National Rural NetworkThe regional events programme of the Scottish National Rural Network kicks off again on Tuesday 19th January at the McLaren Leisure Centre in Callander. This Forth Valley & Lomond event has a theme of Rural Development and the Environment, and well over 100 people have already booked to attend.
Booking is also open for the Moray event which takes place on 29th January at Inchberry Hall, Fochabers. Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment will be attending the event and giving the opening remarks. You can get more information in Book now for Moray Rural Network regional event.
Dates and venues for all the regional events have now been finalised. You can get details on our new Regional Events page. We're looking forward to getting out and about and meeting lots of people who use the Rural Network website. We'll also be bringing you reports, photos and more from each of the events.

A series of public meetings has been announced as part of the consultative phase of Brian Pack's Inquiry into the Future of Agricultural Support in Scotland. The interim report from the Inquiry will be published next week. You can get more information here.

The O4O: Older people for older people project is a transnational project working in the Highlands, Dumfries and Galloway, Northern Ireland, Finland, Sweden and Greenland. Their aims include promoting older people as a positive force and encouraging inter-generational learning. A double workshop session of the International Rural Network Forum held in Udapuir, India, last year explored how community owned and managed energy systems could improve rural livelihoods.
