Editor's Note

Snowy roadWe're off to Ayrshire later today for the Scottish National Rural Network regional event in this area, which takes place tomorrow at the Scottish Agricultural College campus in Auchincruive. We're looking forward to a day of presentations, networking and discussions.

We're putting the finishing touches to the event report from the West Lothian event, which took place in a snowy Livingston last week. The day featured very interesting project presentations on the Fauldhouse Development Trust and the Strachur and District Community Development Company, so look out for the articles coming to the website soon. Event report from Dumfries and Galloway regional event

The event report from the Scottish National Rural Network regional event in Dumfries and Galloway is now available on the website in two parts. You can find out about updates on the Rural Network, LEADER and Rural Priorities in Part One. In Part Two, you can read about excellent project presentations from Christina Noble of Here We Are in Cairndow and Duncan Elliott from the Xcel Project in Dumfries and Galloway. You can also find out what themes came up during the discussion session. And we've got photos from the day in our Dumfries and Galloway event gallery.

Trees and greenhouse gas emissions seminar

The role of forests in helping the UK to meet greenhouse gas emission targets was highlighted at a seminar at the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute yesterday. You can find out more in Seminar to consider the role of trees in reducing greenhouse gases.

You can have your say on Scotland's first Land Use Strategy by going along to one of the public meetings being held by the Scottish Government. These events kick off on 15th March in Gatehouse of Fleet, with events taking place across the country until the end of the month. Future of public service delivery in ageing populations

On 12th March, the Centre for Remote and Rural Studies is holding a public seminar in Inverness on the theme of 'Future of Public Service Delivery in Ageing Rural Communities'. The event will feature an interactive panel discussion engaging the audience in identifying future directions and innovations for service delivery. The event is for practitioners, policy makers, researchers and the general public. Find out more in our events calendar.

Deer and wildlife tourism - two events from Wild Scotland

Wild Scotland are holding two one-day events on wildlife tourism and deer. Using Deer to Capitlise on the Wildlife Photography Tourism Market takes place on 18th March at Cnoc Hotel, Struy near Beauly in the Highlands. Deer - a Wildlife Watching Opportunity? is on 19th March in Armadale, Isle of Skye.
