Scotland: National Rural NetworkThe Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and how our rural businesses are supported will be subject to significant change after 2013 and this will have a major impact upon all of us. One thing is clear, the status quo is not an option and your Association is working hard to influence the shape of the future outcomes.
The keynote speaker at the Conference is George Lyon, who in his short time as a Liberal Democrat MEP has been charged with the heavy responsibility of acting as the Agricultural Committee of the European Parliament's Rapporteur on CAP Post 2014. His recently published working document on CAP Post 2013 further stimulates the debate over the direction of CAP 2014. We will also be hearing from distinguished international panel members on the impact for the UK and wider EU perspectives of this crucial issue.
The day is certain to be fascinating, thought provoking and a chance for you all to enter into the debate 11 May 2010. Please ensure you put this date in your diary now!
