Scotland: National Rural NetworkA drop-in and advice service which has been in operation in Stoneyburn since 2005 has after consultation with young people and the community learned that there are concerns about the needs and services available for young people. In particular, the concerns of those that struggle with mainstream education, who are unemployed and finding transition into adulthood difficult. In support, projects have been devised to provide: a safe and non-threatening environment that young people will want to attend; workshops and educational sessions that will respond to their needs; and a signposting service to enable uptake of specialised services, for example, Access2Employment and health services.
