Scotland: National Rural Network
Trellis is the national Scottish charity that supports, promotes, and develops the use of horticulture to improve health, well-being and life opportunities for all. A number of queries have come into their office this month, can you help or offer suggestions?
A keen gardener and past ‘Perth in Bloom' winner has recently become unable to maintain his own garden. He would really appreciate help to get his garden into a manageable state and then support to enable him to be involved in the maintenance of it. Trellis are putting out this appeal as well as contacting the local volunteer centre. If you can help please contact us here at the Trellis Office on 01738 624348.
10-20 litre pots wanted by Angus based project. Willing to travel to collect. Contact Mike on 01561 362466.
I have a friend who moved recently to Auchterarder and have inherited a metal garden gate which from memory measures about 6 foot by 4 foot. Do you know of anyone who might want it and could collect it? Contact Alistair on 01877 385244.
We current use Clydesdale Trading Society to supply us with general horticulture items such as pots, labels, capillary matting, potting compost etc. They have just notified us of a minimum £15 delivery charge and wanted to try to find some alternative providers. I am struggling to find anyone and wondered if any of the other network members would be able to guide us in the right direction. Contact Stephanie on 0141 777 5050.
