Don't miss out on the opportunity to attend a major rural event taking place in Edinburgh next month. The free EU Rural Cooperation Fair takes place on 23rd and 24th September at Murrayfield Stadium and will be a fantastic opportunity to network with a wide range of people from across Europe's rural communities.

The event will also be a chance to explore cooperation projects with other countries and to find out what's worked well in other parts of Europe.

Speakers include Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment Richard Lochhead, Jean-Michel Courades from DG AGRI and Panagiotis Patras, president of the EU Local Action Group association ELARD. There will be six themed workshops facilitated by representatives from Slovenia, Finland, Sweden, Hungary, Austria, Germany and the UK.

Delegates will have the option to go on a project visit to Whitmuir Organics in the Scottish Borders - an inspiring rural enterprise which received Rural Priorities funding for some of their projects. Whitmuir is a small family farm with a food hall and farm shop, a licenced restaurant, an art gallery and a home delivery service. They raise cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens and turkeys and grow vegetables, salads and soft fruit. Their produce is organic and all their meat is butchered on the farm. Whatever your interest it's bound to give you food for thought!

There will also be a chance for informal networking during lunch, a market place and a conference dinner and ceilidh.

Don't miss out on the chance to attend this exciting event. To receive an invitation for the event email EUruralfair@scvo.org.uk.
