Scotland: National Rural Network
An atmospheric shot of the River Braan in Hermitage Forest has won the Autumn theme of our Seasons of Rural Scotland photo competition. Andras Sandor's 'Hermitage Forest, near Dunkeld' received the highest number of votes in our recent photo competition poll.
Hundreds of you voted in the online poll to decide the Autumn winner from a shortlist of five stunning images. Craig Bunyan's 'Autumnal Sunrise over Stac Polllaidh' has taken the runner up spot.
Norette Ferns, editor of the Scotland National Rural Network website said, "We are delighted to announce that the Autumn winner of our Seasons of Rural Scotland photo competition is 'Hermitage Forest, near Dunkeld'. Andras Sandor's photo captures the atmosphere of Autumn and the beauty of Hermitage Forest. The photo was a clear favourite among the hundreds of people who voted.
"We'd like to thank everyone who submitted an entry to the Autumn theme of our competition, and all those who voted for their favourite photo in our online poll.
"Our Autumn theme may have closed, but the Seasons of Rural Scotland photo competition is gathering momentum. We're accepting entries for our remaining three themes and the Winter photos are coming in thick and fast.
"Don't forget we're also running a special competition for young photographers. Those under 18 can enter under any of our four themes before the competition closes at the end of August. We've had some excellent entries so far, but we're hoping for lots more in 2011."
Users of the Scotland National Rural Network website were asked to vote for their favourite Autumn photo from a shortlist of five entries chosen by the SNRN website team. You can see all five finalists here.
Mr Sandor wins a £25 Amazon voucher to spend online, with his photo going forward to the end of competition poll at the start of September to decide the overall winner of the Seasons of Rural Scotland photo competition. Mr Bunyan receives a £10 Amazon voucher.
