We are delighted to announce that Terry Henderson has been voted the winner of the Seasons of Rural Scotland photo competition by users of the Rural Network website. The winning image 'Spring Baby' was taken in a Coldstream garden in May and was the winner of the Spring theme of the competition.

Terry's photo received 25 percent of the overall vote, with Andras Sandor's 'Hermitage Forest' close behind with 23 percent. The online poll asked the public which of our four season winners and two young photographer winners deserved the overall title.

Norette Ferns, editor of the Scotland National Rural Network website, said, "We are delighted to announce the winner of our year long Seasons of Rural Scotland photo competition. Terry Henderson's image of a grumpy baby blue tit was a popular choice taking a quarter of votes.

"The voting was incredibly close, with just four percent of the votes seperating the winner from the second runner up! We've had a wonderful response to the photo competition, with over 400 entries and over 2,000 votes cast. We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part, particularly our six finalists."

You can find out more about the competition and get links to all the theme winners and galleries on our Photo Competition page.
