Research workshop asks if place influences whether you volunteer?

Volunteers with their hands up

Does where you live influence whether you volunteer? This is one of the questions which a workshop funded by AQMeN (The Applied Quantitative Studies Network), and organised in collaboration between AQMeN, Volunteer Development Scotland (VDS), University of Stirling and the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) seeks to address.

The Research Workshop: Does Place Matter? Exploring drivers for volunteer participation event takes place on Wednesday 22nd February, 10.30am - 4.00pm at Volunteer Development Scotland, Jubille House, Forthside Way, Stirling.

This compelling free workshop will present analysis of new and pre-existing data that will be essential learning for researchers, policy makers and practitioners across Scotland.

As part of this, the event will explore the varying distribution of volunteering between urban and rural areas of Scotland and, through workshop discussion and additional short research presentations, explore why this might be.

It will explore the usefulness and potential implications of the research for policy, practice and research, helping identify what additional research might be useful for those seeking to extend and develop voluntary participation
