What is Rural Priorities?

Rural Priorities is a funding stream from the Scottish Rural Development Programme. This briefing gives a basic overview of Rural Priorities including: an outline of the application process, the type of activity that may be eligible and the differences between Rural Priorities and LEADER funding. What is LEADER?

LEADER is a funding stream from the Scottish Rural Development Programme. This briefing gives a basic overview of LEADER including information on who can apply, what will be funded and contact information for the various LEADER Local Action Groups (LAGs). Download briefing here.

Getting a Business Reference Number

Before you are able to apply online to Rural Priorities you must get a Business Reference Number. This briefing will help community organisations fill in the Land and Business Change form and get a Business Reference Number (BRN). Download briefing here.

Constituted Community Groups

To access funding from Rural Priorities, a community group must be “properly constituted”. This briefing is intended to help groups ensure they satisfy this requirement, and to help those involved in assessing the eligibility of applicants. Download briefing here.

Completing the SOI case summary

The Statement of Intent (SOI) is the first of two stages in the Rural Priorities application process. It allows you to register your interest in Rural Priorities funding and gives us an outline of your ideas. This briefing provides guidance to rural community groups on what to include in the 2000 character SOI  case summary. Download briefing here.

Completing the Proposal Stage for Rural Priorities

The full proposal is the second stage of the application process for Rural Priorities funding. These briefings provide a short guide to the proposal stage. Please note that there are different briefings depending on whether you submitted your proposal before or after 16th November 2011.

Grazings Committees

Grazings Committees can apply for Rural Priorities funding from the SRDP. This guide sets out some specific issues that a Grazing Committee should consider in order to meet the requirements for their application. Download briefing here.
