Rural Network at the Royal Highland Show

23 Jun 2009

The Royal Highland Show this week is going to have more than its share of very important visitors.

As well as Her Majesty the Queen and Dennis the Menace, members of the team who deliver the Rural Network website and the Rural Direct service will also be in attendance, along with representatives of some of Scotland's LEADER Local Action groups.

The Rural Network team will be based at the SEARS tent where they will be encouraging people to take a look at the website and register as members so that they can keep up to date with all the news and information on the site about events and activities around rural Scotland.

There will also be a draw for a prize hamper of goodies from the Show, open to everyone who has registered before Friday 26th June.

There will be quizzes and wordsearches for younger visitors and an exclusive Royal Highland Show Photo Competition, with another fantastic hamper to be won for the best picture taken at the Show. Entries can be submitted by email to editor@ruralgateway.org.uk or by visiting us at the stand, where we can upload your pictures on the spot.

The Rural Direct Team will be promoting their highly valued service that helps rural communities to access funding from sources such as SRDP Rural Priorities, and will provide on-the-spot information to anyone who's thinking of applying.

The Royal Highland Show runs from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th June and you can find out more about it at the official website here. If you're going to the Show - and if you aren't, you're missing a treat! - do take the time to come along and visit us.
