‘Trossachs 2010' will be a celebration of the 200th Anniversary of Sir Walter Scott's epic verse "The Lady of the Lake" set in and around the Trossachs. The Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority is investing £125,000 as a catalyst for the events, with a Loch Katrine Art and Literary Trail in The Great Trossachs Forest already planned. There will also be promotional cruises on Loch Katrine on the recently refurbished SS Sir Walter Scott as well as themed guided activities and walks.

Sir Walter Scott's poem ‘The Lady of the Lake' was an instant hit in 1810 selling over 25,000 copies across the globe in its first year. Convener of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority, Dr Mike Cantlay, commented, "The aim is to celebrate the poem which first brought the area to prominence and reconnect visitors to Scott's romantic vision."

Romance, beautiful scenery and a cruise on the lake - sounds like the Trossachs will be the place to visit in 2010!
