What are the aims of your project?The Centre for Creative Industries has been established by GlobalYell Ltd to provide education and training in textiles and music in the Shetland Islands. Our work aims to support makers, industry, and community across the islands and further afield through training opportunities and educational activities, and to spread the word about Shetland and its amazing heritage. Our work is mainly concerned with vocal music and with woven textiles.

What are the aims of your project?Kirkhill District Amenities Association (KDAA) is a charity that runs Kirkhill Community Centre and sports park for the benefit of the local community. Our latest project was to fit an array of solar photo voltaic (PV) panels fitted to the roof. They generate electricity from the sun which will help keep the costs of running the hall down and help protect the environment. The panels are the largest grid-connected community-owned photovoltaic array in Inverness-shire.
ReBOOT has two main aims - to reduce the negative impact of Information Technology (IT) on the environment, and to support the local community. We do this by re-using and recycling computer equipment and raising awareness of the environmental issues associated with IT, and by providing training and volunteering opportunities, employment support, and access to low cost computers and services.
In 2010 the town of Kirriemuir celebrated the 150th anniversary of the birth of its most famous son, the author and playwright James Matthew Barrie. Angus Council and the local community have been working in partnership to create a fitting project to mark the event.
