Following on from the success of this year's five themed project visits, we are delighted to announce a further three visits to take place in early 2012.

Registration has opened for these events and you are invited to submit an application of interest.

'Taste for Tourism' food & drink networking event

On 15th November, the Taste for Tourism event at the Hilton Coylumbridge proved there is a real taste for networking and collaboration between food and drink businesses in rural Scotland. As well as hearing inspirational presentations, participants had the chance to meet each other, taste produce and network at the busy market place. You can read a short report in Appetite for collaboration at Taste for Tourism event, get the presentations in our Documents section and see photos to make your mouthwater in our Gallery. Renewable energy networking event

On 18th October 2011 around 90 people came together in Carnoustie for the Renewable Energy Networking Event. This event was in partnership with the Royal Society of Edinburgh and Community Energy Scotland.

Wind TurbineIt was a great event with lots of practical information for those involved in, or interested in, renewables. Afternoon sessions covered six project stages - from feasability to community planning and managing income.

Graffiti wallYoung, gifted and rural!

Around 40 young people, and those who support them, gathered at Comrie Croft on 6th October for the Young, Gifted and Rural event. This partnership event from the Scottish National Rural Network and the Carnegie UK Trust will help inform future activity on the theme of getting more young people involved in rural community life. Young people from youth projects and forums across the country shared their experiences about  being involved in their communities. You can get links to information from the event below.

    Rural Network Village Halls and Community Buildings networking event

    On 5th July 2011, around 160 people involved in village halls and community buildings from across Scotland gathered at the Birnam Arts and Conference Centre to celebrate their successes and share ideas and experiences in a networking event organised in partnership with the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC).     Regional events 2009/10
