Scotland: National Rural Network
Around 100 representatives from LEADER Local Action Groups attended the 2010 Scottish LEADER Conference at the Treetops Hotel in Aberdeen on 18 June. Speakers included Peter Russell from the Scottish Government, Gerallt Llewellyn Jones and Gail Merriman from Wales, and Martin MacDonald from Northern Ireland.
The first UK National Rural Network conference took place in Belfast in March. It was an interesting and inspiring two day event with presentations, workshops on a range of issues, study visits and even a ceilidh!
Editor's update: Booking is now open - more information here.
The UK National Rural Network will hold its first rural development networking conference, hosted by the Rural Network for Northern Ireland, in the Holiday Inn, Belfast on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 March 2010.

Funding for community services and facilities under the Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) is to remain under the Rural Priorities option for the time being instead of transferring to LEADER.
