Wage increases announced for agricultural staff

Proposals for wage increases for agricultural staff in Scotland have been agreed following the annual meeting of the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board on 9th May.

The new rates of pay will come into effect from October 2012, with the basic rate of pay for agricultural workers with less than 26 weeks continuous employment rising by 11 pence per hour to £6.22, bringing the minimum wage for a 39 hour week to £242.58.
