Rural Community Empowerment in the 21st Century: Building a ‘can-do' Culture

This seminar is designed to engage a wide range of stakeholders in thinking how social science insights can give a fresh perspective on what makes some rural communities more dynamic than others, and how the evidence on rural community empowerment can be applied in ‘real life' situations.

The seminar, which is being run by the Scottish Government, in collaboration with the Economic and Social Research Council, will take place at the Battleby Centre, Perth, on 25th March 2010. You can download the programme from our documents library. There is no charge for attendance, and lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day.

Places are limited, but we are particularly keen to ensure that everyone with an interest in rural community empowerment has the opportunity to apply to attend. For this reason, we are holding a few places, which you can apply for by emailing editor@ruralgateway.org.uk by close of business on 18th March. Names will be drawn from a ballot on Friday 19th March, and you will be contacted on that day.

We do hope that you will be interested in participating in this exciting event.
