Sheep herder needed for film shoot in Dumfries & Galloway

Hello, My name is James Thomas I'm a film student at the Scottish Screen Academy in Edinburgh. Currently I'm working on a script which I intend to film in my upcoming final year.

The film is about a sheep farmer who goes in search of love. However when he returns to his herd of sheep with his new love, conflict arises between his new wife and his sheep. His wife wants to get rid of his sheep and his sheep want to get rid of his wife. What ensues is a tit for tat battle between the sheep and the wife for the affections and attentions of the farmer.

Needless to say for this idea to work, I need to find a sheep herder with trained dog and a small flock of sheep. The sheep herder does not need to be able to act as an actor will most likely be hired to play the part of the farmer. At the moment I'm looking to film in and around a bothie in Galloway Forest Park in March of 2011.

If this interests anyone, or anyone knows of someone who would be interested in taking part or would just like to find out more information, please let me know. Interested parties can get in contact with me via my e-mail address, which is: James_thomas@mail.com

Thank you very much for your time

Yours Sincerely

James Thomas

Local press

It might be worth contacting the local Dumfries and Galloway newspapers and radio, and perhaps the Scottish Farmer weekly newspaper. It's an unusual story that they may well feature. Here's the link to the Scottish Farmer website: http://www.thescottishfarmer.co.uk/news

Finding sheep

James I don't live in Dumfries and Galloway, but I do know that the Dumfries Show is on the 7th August. I am sure if you approach someone there you will find someone with a flock of sheep that can help you. See http://www.dumfriesshow.co.uk/ Sheila

Dumfries Show
