There are lots of ways to get involved with the Rural Gateway, from entering our photo competition to becoming a regular contributor. Join us!
If you register with the Rural Gateway you can sign up for our popular and informative Rural Update and Funding Latest email newsletters, as well as regular news and updates. Register here.
Network in our Members Directory
Our Members Directory is a great networking tool, allowing you to contact other members of the Rural Gateway community. You can even search by area of interest. If you join the Members Directory, you can share as much of your profile as you like, giving you control over what information is public.
Share your knowledge and experience with others
In Rural Answers, you can post your questions for rural Scotland and network with people across the country. It's also a great place to share your knowledge and experience with others.
Let us know what you think about a range of rural issues
On the Rural Gateway, you can join discussion and share your views with others. You can add a comment to any of our articles, letting us know what you think on a whole range of rural issues. You can also join discussions on major rural issues by taking part in our Great Rural Debates. And don't forget to vote in our polls!
Share your news with others
If there's something interesting going on in your community, let us know! You can email editor@ruralgateway.org.uk and tell us about news and issues you think we could cover. Even better, you can send us a special report on something happening in your area, or field of expertise.
Share good practice
We're interested in sharing examples of good practice from all around rural Scotland. If your community has achieved something great, or is running a brilliant project, let us know! Your story could inspire others and sharing your expertise could help them avoid some pitfalls. It's also a great way of letting people know about your project.
You might want to take part in our popular regular feature Your Project. All you have to do is answer a series of set questions about your community project. Or you can send us information for an article. If you want to know more get in touch by emailing editor@ruralgateway.org.uk
Send us your community links and newsletters
We have hundreds of community websites on the site, let us know if we are missing your community link and we'll add it. And you can also send us your community newsletter. Send links and newsletters to editor@ruralgateway.org.uk.
Put your questions to rural experts
In our Ask an Expert feature, you can put your questions to a range of rural experts.
Publicise your events
You can send us details of events for our events calendar. Find out how to get your events listed. If there is an unusual or exciting cultural or community event happening where you live you can take part in our What's Going On? feature. Send us up to 100 words on an upcoming event or a review of a recent event up to 250 words. Find out more about What's going on?
Enter our photo competition
We launched our first photo competition in 2007, and its success far exceeded our expectations! Find out more about the photo competition.
Share videos and photos
If you know of a video related to rural Scotland, tell us about it. We can add it to our YouTube channel and share it through our video page! If you have photos on any aspect of living and working in rural Scotland, but they aren't right for our photo competition, send them to us for our Gallery! Send photos and videos to editor@ruralgateway.org.uk.
Write an article
You can contribute a one off special report, take part in any of our regular features, or even become a regular contributor. Some of regular contributions are monthly, some are less frequent.
