Farming fun for September photo competition winner

Untitled, copyright Rosie O'Hara

Rosie O'Hara has won our photo competition prize for September with this lovely shot taken earlier this year.

Rosie explained that the photo was taken early one Sunday morning at Cantraybridge as Jim and Leon left to feed the sheep. If you click on the photo you will be taken to a larger version of it.

Norette Ferns, Rural Gateway Editor said, "I'm very pleased to announce that Rosie O'Hara has won our photo competition prize for September. We loved this atmospheric and delightful shot. It is also our first winner to have a farming subject."

Only three months to go for our photo competition

We've been delighted with the quality and diversity of your submissions to our photo competition and think our nine monthly winners so far are excellent.

There are only three months left to submit your photos to our 'Living in rural Scotland' photo competition. We are looking for your photos that represent people living and working in Scotland's rural communities.

The competition is running throughout 2007, with monthly winner chosen by the Rural Gateway team at the end of each month. Each monthly winner will receive a £10 Amazon voucher.

Monthly winners will go on to the final, with the winning photo chosen by Rural Gateway users. The overall winner will receive a luxury hamper.

Submit your photos electronically by email to editor@ruralgateway.org.uk stating your name, the title of the image and contact details.

  • Deadline for consideration is the 20th of each month, photos submitted after this will be considered for the next month.
  • The competition is open to all ages.
  • Photos can be black and white or colour.
  • You can submit more than one photo for consideration.
  • We would prefer that photos reflect the season they are submitted in.

The Rural Gateway and the Scottish Government may seek permission to use images submitted to the competition. If you would like more information on the photo competition please email Norette Ferns at editor@ruralgateway.org.uk
