Rural Development Programme update

Image of cow with its head through gateThe Scottish Government have produced a newsletter to help keep you informed on the new Scottish Rural Development Programme, its development and its implementation. You can download the September update from the Rural Gateway documents library now.

A number of capacity building events will be hosted by the Scottish Government in coming months. Workshops will be held for specialist advisors from public bodies on 6th, 8th, 12th, 13th and 14th November 2007.

From 3rd to 13th December 2007 there will be a series of in-depth seminars for external advisory networks, agents, consultants, representative bodies and non-government organisations. Bookings will be invited for these seminars shortly.

Public meetings and seminars for potential applicants will be promoted soon and will take place on 11th and 13th December 2007 and the period mid-January to mid-February 2008.

Upcoming local LEADER events

The following events about LEADER have been added to those listed in Rural Development Programme – key facts for communities.

Rural Aberdeenshire

  • 10th October, Mearns Academy, Laurencekirk at 6.30pm for 7pm
  • 11th October, Mintlaw Academy, Mintlaw at 6.30pm for 7pm

Scottish Borders

The Scottish Borders LEADER Local Action Group – a partnership of 24 local agencies and organisations – has developed some ideas on how LEADER funding should be targeted in the Scottish Borders, but would like to hear local views and suggestions. The following drop-in sessions have been arranged.

  • 18th October, Jedburgh Town Hall, Abbey Place, 6–8pm
  • 22nd October, Duns Council Chamber, Newtown Street, 6–8pm
  • 23rd October, Peebles Council Chamber, Rosetta Road, 6-8pm
