Celebrating Highland voluntary sector
Celebrating the work of the voluntary sector in Highland communities is the aim of an upcoming event organised by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO).Highland Voluntary Sector 2007 will take place at Inshes Church in Inverness from 10.30am to 3.30pm on 23rd November 2007. The following speakers have been confirmed:
- Willie Roe, Highlands & Islands Enterprise
- Alison Magee, Big Lottery Fund
- Councillor Jean Urquhart, Highland Council
- John Ferguson, SCVO
The event will celebrate the great work of voluntary organisations in the area with presentations, performances, exhibitions and displays and great networking. Good food is also promised!
SCVO’s Rural Development Manager Alison Cairns said, "This conference will celebrate the work of the voluntary sector in rural communities in the Highlands and increase awareness and appreciation of the diversity and importance of the sector. It will clearly demonstrate the good working relationships that exist between voluntary organisations and their main funders and partners"
