EDITOR'S NOTE
I hope those of you who had an Easter break enjoyed it - I certainly
enjoyed mine! But it's still been a busy time at the Gateway. We've
added a new topic on Crofting, where you will find information
on the Committee of Inquiry on Crofting, we've announced our March photo
competition winner and published our March photo gallery. Read more
about what's new to the site below.

CROFTING
As you may be aware, a Committee of Inquiry on crofting has been
established. The Committee will soon have its own website, but in the
meantime you can find more about the inquiry on the Rural Gateway. Go
to Topics on the homepage and follow the link to Crofting.

PHOTO COMPETITION
Tom Fincher has won our photo competition for March with an
atmospheric shot taken while walking on Birnam Hill in Perthshire.
Our March photo gallery includes everything from feeding lambs to
kayaking to some lovely welly boots!

The competition runs throughout the year, so send your photos on
the theme 'Living in rural Scotland' to mailto:editor@ruralgateway.org.uk
Remember, we are looking for photos that represent living and working
in Scotland's rural communities. This time of year should offer lots
of photo opportunities - family days out during the holidays or
new life on the farm, for example. You can find all the monthly
galleries and more about our winners in our new photo competition archive.

YOUR PROJECT
You might remember that in our February photo competition gallery we
featured Dianne Smith's 'Who said education can't be fun!' which
showed pupils from Balfron High School enjoying their Rural Skills
course. Well, in our latest Your project, Dianne tells us more about
the course, their biggest achievement so far and the challenges they
face.
