EDITOR'S NOTE
Last week I had my first visit to Mull and Iona, as part of the NPP
DESERVE Final Fling conference. The visit was superb with wonderful
scenery, a tour of the famous Iona Abbey and lunch sitting outside
the Iona Heritage Centre enjoying the sunshine (and protected from
the wind). I am already planning a return trip! You can read more
about the conference in my conference report.
See http://www.ruralgateway.org.uk/item/1805
I will be out and about at the end of this week, too, at the Touchwood
Festival event being held in Dingwall on 1st and 2nd June. I may see
some of you there!

PHOTO COMPETITION
We've had some fantastic entries to the photo competition this month so
look out for the May winner to be announced on Friday 1st June. What
looks set to be a great monthly gallery will follow shortly after.
Don't forget the photo competition runs throughout the year, so send
your photos on the theme 'Living in rural Scotland' to
mailto:editor@ruralgateway.org.uk. Camping, fishing, climbing,
mountain biking, picnicking, whatever you get up to this summer, send
us your photos!
YOUR PROJECT
Your project is an opportunity to tell rural Scotland all about your
project. We've had some great feedback recently from people who have
taken part, with enquiries and contacts coming as a result of their
Gateway article. It's easy to take part, all you have to do is answer
a series of set questions and send in any images you would like
to be included in the article. If you are interested email
mailto:editor@ruralgateway.org.uk
GETTING TO KNOW YOU
Bridget Paterson is the latest Rural Gateway member to take part in
our regular feature 'Getting to know you', where we profile people
who use the site. Along with the problem of housing, Bridget highlights
the cost of ferries as a real issue. You can let us know what you
think by adding a comment to the article.
See http://www.ruralgateway.org.uk/item/1784
If you would like to take part in Getting to know you and let us know
what you think the issues are in your area send an email to
mailto:editor@ruralgateway.org.uk.
RURAL ANSWERS
The most recent posting on Rural Answers is a question about
electricity charges. A community centre is thinking about changing
provider and want to know if anyone has experience of Bizz Energy.
Can you help?

Recently added documents include the SNP Manifesto for Farming,
called 'A Prosperous Future for Farming', the Economic Report on
