EDITOR'S NOTE
How often do you use the Rural Gateway? Have you ever got in touch
with an individual or organisation that you heard about on the Rural
Gateway? We'd like you to tell us the answers to these questions, and
a few more, by completing our user survey. The survey will give us more
information about how you use the Rural Gateway and will help us
with the development of the site. We'd really appreciate it if you could
take part. It should take less than five minutes to complete the survey.
And as a little incentive, an Amazon voucher for 15 pounds will go to
a randomly selected participant. Just fill in your email address on
the survey to be included in the draw.
To take the survey go to:

CHARTER FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES REVIEWS
As part of a series of special articles for the Rural Gateway, Di
Jennings of Local People Leading, Geoff Fagan of CADISPA and Pip
Tabor of Southern Uplands Partnership have written reviews of A
Charter for Rural Communities: the final report of the Carnegie
Commission for Rural Community Development.
See http://www.ruralgateway.org.uk/item/1966
And http://www.ruralgateway.org.uk/item/1956
And http://www.ruralgateway.org.uk/item/1945
Pip Tabor found the report to be "A refreshingly clear and
stimulating read", while Geoff Fagan was left feeling a bit
disappointed. You can download the Charter from our documents
library. We'd like to know what you think about the Charter and our
reviews so far. Let us know by going to the bottom of the reviews and
adding your comment. We will feed all the comments back to the
Carnegie Commission for Rural Community Development.
YOUR PROJECT
Two community projects in rural Scotland have made it to the finals
of the National Lottery Awards 2007. Eoropie Dunes Park on the Isle
of Lewis is up for Best Environment Project, while TYKES, a project
for young carers in Sutherland, is up for the Sunday Mirror Award for
Best Charity/Voluntary Project.
See http://www.ruralgateway.org.uk/item/1954
I am delighted that both Eoropie Dunes Park and TYKES are taking part
in our regular feature, Your Project. The Eoropie Dunes Park article
is on the site now. Look out for the article on TYKES coming soon.
