EDITOR'S NOTE
The Rural Gateway user survey results are in. Thanks to all who took
part. We were delighted with the positive response and useful
comments and suggestions we received. It is great that so many of you
value the Rural Gateway. It is also good to know what you think we
could do better, and what issues you would like to see us cover.
Involving more young people with the site was suggested by more than
one person. We agree that it would be great to engage with more young
people, and we are currently developing new features which we hope
will appeal to younger people. If you work for a youth organisation,
or are a young person who would be interested in contributing to the
site, I'd love to hear from you. You can get in touch by emailing
mailto:editor@ruralgateway.org.uk.
We'd also like to follow up on a comment that suggested we do more
with rural sport and coaching. We will be looking at ways of
increasing our coverage in this area, but again if you are involved
in rural sport and would like to contribute to the Rural Gateway
please do get in touch.
It was also suggested that we could expand our events calendar to
include more community events. We are more than happy to promote
community events on the Gateway, from local gala days to amateur
dramatic plays, so please send details to mailto:editor@ruralgateway.org.uk.
There were many more valuable suggestions, but I won't go into them
all here, except to say that we hope to follow up on as many as
possible. Read more about our survey results here:

Beata Kucinski, a Wildlife Conservation student at University of

of the reintroduction. If you would be interested in filling out the
questionnaire please contact Beata at bk47@kent.ac.uk.

to share with the Rural Gateway community? Don't forget you can tell
us what you think about a whole range of rural issues by adding
comments to our articles. So, what do you think about the
reintroduction of beavers to Scotland? Do you have something to say
about wildlife crime or the Scottish Rural Development Programme? Get
involved, and let us know.
