Calor Village of the Year - deadline extended
Calor Village of the Year is open to villages and communities with a population of less than 5000. Four regional winners will take a £1000 prize. The regions are: North, Central, South and Islands. The overall winner will win a further £3000.
Calor Village of the Year Manager Suzanne Weir said, "The competition is not about beautification, but instead focuses on sustaining Scotland’s rural communities."
"Calor wants to encourage as many villages and small towns as possible to take part. Villages will not be judged on what they have in terms of community facilities and services, but instead on what they do for themselves. Therefore even the smallest community has a good chance of winning a prize if it has strong community spirit and can demonstrate it makes village life as good as it can be for all residents
Villages will be judged on four categories:
- People
- Business
- Environment
- Communication
You can find more information, and the online application form, on the Calor Village of the Year website. All applications must be made online.
The Calor Village of the Year Awards are supported by the Rural Gateway and the Association of Scottish Community Councils. If you have any queries about the awards contact PR Partnership on 01224 248 007 or email info@calorvillageofyear.org.
