Cabinet tours Scotland this summer
The Scottish Cabinet will be meeting across Scotland during this summer's Parliamentary Recess. As well as the formal meetings, Ministers will host good causes receptions, take part in National Conversion public meetings and undertake Ministerial engagements. The Cabinet venues scheduled for the summer are:
- Dumfries - 29th July 2008
- Inverness - 5th August 2008
- Pitlochry - 19th August 2008
- Skye - 26th August 2008
The First Minister Alex Salmond said, "Last summer I was determined to ensure that the new Scottish Government got off to a fast start, and part of that process was to arrange Cabinet meetings throughout the summer recess.
"This year, it seems a logical next step to take Cabinet across Scotland and to allow local communities to meet with Ministers and discuss issues of local and national importance with them in their own areas."

Hi Phil
That's a fair point - Inverness isn't rural at all. I'll make a wee amendment. In fairness to the Scottish Government they didn't declare Inverness rural, that was my faux pas.

As I see it its a great opportunity to get to see the very people responsible for policy decisions.I would advise that people get off the couch and go and speak to these members.Make your case get an aswer to your question and make sure that the members understand that you expect answers or follow up.
Keep in mind that the European elections are coming up soon and get you quieries in.
If you don't lobby or talk to the cabinet they will not know what your issues are right.Be proactive and demand that you are updated.
You have to give them a fair chance non?
