SRDP roadshows in Cairngorms National Park

Image of Cairngorms National Park entrance sign, courtesy of CNPAThe Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) is aiming to demystify the Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) with a series of information roadshows taking place around the Park in July 2008.

The SRDP programme is worth £1.6 billion and is delivered through a range of measures including the LEADER programme and ‘Rural Development Contracts – Rural Priorities’. Working with partners, CNPA’s roadshows will give information on what types of projects are likely to attract funding, who is eligible to apply and the application process. There will also be hints and tips on how to submit a good application.

CNPA board member Eleanor Mackintosh said, "The Scotland Rural Development Programme has the potential to contribute to the vision set out in the Cairngorms National Park Plan and help us all to meet the aims of the Cairngorms National Park. As such, it is important that the CNPA and our partners are able to help people identify good quality projects that help to meet those objectives and to ensure that everyone is making the most of the programme from the start."

  • Tuesday 1st July, Cairngorm Hotel, Aviemore

Help for communities to access funding

Rural Direct is a free service, run by the Crofters Commission and SCVO. It is available to constituted community groups in rural areas throughout Scotland and gives help and advice with locating and applying for funding for your local community. Rural Direct won’t apply for funding on your behalf, but they will do everything they can to make sure you make the best possible funding applications to the appropriate funders, including the Scotland Rural Development Programme. For general inquiries call 0845 838 8598. You can find out more about the service in Rural Direct to help communities access funding.
