SRDP open day in Ayr

Image of strathclydeThe Scottish Government are holding a Open Day on the Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) on 23rd July 2008 at Auchincruive, Ayr. Rural businesses and community groups are invited to help the government pilot Open Days.

The SRDP is a £1.6 billion programme of economic, environmental and social measures designed to develop rural Scotland over the period 2007-2013.

The Open Day will help your rural business or community group to:

  • Find out how you can be involved in this new programme
  • Discuss your ideas informally and access advice from specialists
  • See demonstrations of good practice
  • Find out how a lowland Ayrshire farm could contribute towards achieving Ayrshire Region's priorities under RDC - Rural Priorities, with a focus on reducing pollution

The Rural Direct team from SCVO will also be represented. Rural Direct is a free service helping rural community groups to access funding.

The SRDP Open Day will run from 10am to 3pm at SAC Auchincruive, Ayr, KA6 5HW. Places are free and teas/coffees and a light lunch will be provided. To book a place call 01870 602 346 or email SRDPopenday@scotland.gsi.gov.uk before 16th July 2008.
