Image of a group of young peopleDo you think you could help make the Highlands the best place in Scotland to be young? Could you ensure that the voice of young people is heard on issues and developments that affect them? Are you a good communicator?

The Highland Council is currently looking for the next Highland Youth Convenor. The post is for 12 months from 1st September 2008, and carries a bursary of £10,000. You’d be working with the Youth Development Team based in Inverness.

You’ll develop Highland Youth Voice and other initiatives that increase youth involvement in decisions that affect them. You’ll also be a key representative of young people at various committee meetings.

Along with being a good communicator you should have work experience in youth projects and the ability to relate to a wide range of people and organisations.

If you’re interested you should write or email the Highland Council in no more than 500 words ‘How you would ensure young people’s views are being voiced at the Highland Council and Wellbeing Alliance meetings’, with a CV and two referees noted. The closing date is midday on 30th July 2008.
