Career biography:
I trained as an ecologist and freshwater biologist and spent 3 years doing acid rain research at the Freshwater Fisheries Laboratory in Pitlochry. I was a self-employed biologist for a number of years then also began teaching for the Open University. I am very active in my local community and my experience in fundraising for the local community trust led to my appointment as Rural Information Officer with SCVO. As well as providing funding advice to voluntary groups I manage the funding section of this website. I also manage the content of www.villagehalls.org.uk, a website full of information and news for people involved in running a village or community hall in Scotland.
